Several folks have shared this article with me.

Is it all better now? No. But it's a step in the right direction.

You still will not know how much you will have to pay for anything because when you call your insurance company they will not tell you. And they don't have to.

I am hopeful that people will look at these public lists of charges carefully and start a national conversation about healthcare costs. And that people will call their insurance companies to ask what things cost through them, and when told they can't get an answer, I hope people will complain, loudly.

"...published prices are likely to bear no resemblance to the actual prices, which can vary depending on the rates the hospitals negotiate with insurance companies."

"....hospitals are free to offer more information to consumers to put prices in context and to let people know how much they are actually likely to pay."
